[Sometimes, the most basic dreams are the most enjoyable. This? This is one of the most basic dreams that anyone can have. Far, far below is a vast city- New York, perhaps, with skyscrapers reaching up like grasping fingers. But that's far below, so far that the cars are just little dots zooming on the freeways. Up here is freedom. Pure, clean air

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

[Vanille was free falling from a rather terrifying height and while she would normally have the help of Fang's Bahamut or Lightening's gravity defying trick, neither were here to save her]

[teddyling]

[Well that's... not good. Teddy doesn't realize this is a dream, nor does he question why there's a woman now falling from where before there had been none. No, the only thing that matters to him is doing the properly heroic thing. He tucks in his wings and goes into a steep dive, racing Vanille to the ground... and before she can hit the skyscrapers, he's caught her. For now he just glides above the rooftops, concern in his voice as he speaks. First things first.] Hey, you okay...?

[She yelps when she's caught, not expecting that, but she wasn't expecting to be free falling, either. She looks up at her rescuer, catching her breath.

She smiles despite being previously scared out of her wits. Free falling and flying she's used to, but not when she can't help the landing situation.]

Yeah, I'm okay.

Thank you for saving me.

[teddyling]

It's okay, kind of what I do. [He grins, relieved that she seems to be all right. Catching people in flight isn't half as easy as people think it is, especially with Teddy's super-strength- the first couple of times he tried something like this didn't go nearly as smoothly. But now? She seems fine, and he shows no signs of minding the extra weight.] Anywhere in particular you want me to put you?

[She looks down towards the ground. She didn't recognize the city or anything and it was much different than Cocoon or Gran Pulse.]

I don't know. I don't know this place.

[She looks back up at him]

I'm all right flying! How can you do this?

[teddyling]

O-okay... [Teddy has to admit that he's never had someone tell him just to keep flying before. He does, of course, but it's a little surprising, so he's caught off-guard. There's some concern in his voice, though.] Don't know this place? ...so you aren't from around here?

[He frowns. This could get complicated. Still, when she asks that question, he grins a little. Oh, he knows, there's no end of questioning from some people. How can he fly when he's super-strong, didn't he know wings don't work that way, silly things like that. But it does, so what explanation can he offer?] I just flap my wings when I need some extra height. It's not any more difficult than walking, once you're used to it.

Ooooh wooooow. [She gasps and looks down again, looking at the city below.]

This is so fun! [She giggles] I wish I had wings like this.

[She looks back up at him]

I'm not from this place. This doesn't look anything like Gran Pulse. Not even Cocoon!

[teddyling]

[Teddy's never really had anyone quite so... giggly... with him when he's like this. Cass and Kate are both far from that, and it's not like he carries them around much anyway. still... it's kind of a nice change. She's clearly enjoying the flight, and so he starts a dive- so she can see the city up close before he pulls up at the last second. Almost like a roller coaster, but far more exhilarating. Far more fun, in Teddy's opinion.

As he ascends again, he cocks his head at her.] Gran Pulse? Cocoon? Where are those- in space?

[Vanille lets out an excited shout as he takes a dive. This was so much fun! Flying wasn't something that she took in regularly, but it was always a thrill when she did.]

They're not in space. Well, Cocoon is a floating continent, but it's not in space.

[teddyling]

A floating continent? [Sounds a lot like what Magneto was trying to do, only... successful. Teddy ponders that as he just glides for a little while, effortlessly soaring above the city below.] Sounds like an interesting place, where you're from.

What place is this?

[She looks up at him, an inquisitive expression on her face]

[teddyling]

New York City. I like flying through all the skyscrapers. [He grins at that inquisitive expression, and while he's not exactly a great tour guide, or a world traveler, he still enjoys the sights. ...from a distance. The streets are just as bad as rumor has them.] Tell me more about where you come from?

[pulsingrainbow]

[She looks back down at everything] Woooow...Cool!

[She looks up at him again]

Well, Gran Pulse is this greeeeeeeeeeeeeat big land full of all sorts of creatures! Some are as harmless as little sheep and chocobo and bunnies. While some are huuuuuge! As tall as that building!

[She pointed at one of the sky scrapers]

It's really dangerous on Gran Pulse, but it's my home. And you learn to survive!

[teddyling]

That sounds... a little sad. [He frowns as he hears that. Oh sure, he likes the idea of the creatures, and part of him does want to see it. But it being so dangerous and having to learn how to survive? That's... rough. Reminds him too much of his father's side of the family, with their emphasis on strength and training and conscripted service.

So his tone is a little more quiet than normal, as he gazes at the woman in his arms.] So you... know how to survive? Against creatures that big?
