Healer's!

Boy, that's the most tiring event I can remember! Played soooo many undead.

Getting to the event turned out to be a nightmare. First the dentistry thing, then getting away from work late, then the damn train not stopping at Watford Junction, so I had to turn around and come back from Hemel, then having to jump start the car...Complete bloody night mare, but got there in the end.

I have only the vagest idea of the plot, since I spend most of the time playing mindless things attacking players. I achieved my primary intention of giving sword, shield and heavy armour a good work out, now that I can do so safely. Dan's buckler worked quite well, but I'd like to try a kite shield as well (latex, not plywood, for preference). The sword worked well with it, though the grip binding came loose in the final fight. I need to try the hammer in combo as well. The new armour was pretty good as well. I need to pad the bracers, more so that they can be tighted properly than for comfort, and the greaves could use a little padding around the top. The helmet was absolutely brilliant, defended me against loads of head blows with no trouble at all. All in all, a big thumbs up for Schatzkammer kit.

The event itself went fairly well. Did some basic skelly stuff on Friday night, culminating in a big attack where I managed to talk myself into playing a Death Knight in my shiny new armour. That was great fun, got to do some shouting at players and then hit them for lots of damage, finishing with a 5 minute(!) frenzy. Followed, thank god, by a 10 minute lie down whilst I got laid to rest. Then I drank beer until the adrenaline wore off and went to bed.

Saturday started slowly, with a nice breakfast from event catering, followed by occasional undead foreys. After lunch, we spent just under 2 hours doing continuously respawning undead to keep the players who weren't doing linears from getting bored. After about the 35th respawn, we got a little silly and had the attack of the alluring female undead, followed by the undead can can and undead conga line. Then we stopped for a while. The next big thing was a Demon attack, which I missed so I could give Big Dan a lift home, though Helen promised me something gribbly to make up for it. Unfortunately, I was so knackered by this point (and my voice was so screwed), that I ended up sitting about for a bit, then driving home for a shower and sleep in my own bed (and watched "Hush", with thewhitespider and ukcalico).

Sunday I dragged myself back to the event, mainly for the cooked breakfast, then drank redbull until I woke up. I sensibly avoided the early skimishing, saving my energy and voice for the main stuff. Played a berserker skeleton for a while, then got statted as another Death Knight intended to delay the players and try to capture Elani and Elthorn
