saturday was the big dashboard confessional/thrice/get up kids concert. lauren almost wasn't able to go, which really would've sucked. emily, lauren, and i ate at star pizza before we went to the arena. i hadn't been to star pizza in like 6 years so it was great. really yummy pizza, but the waitress was a total whack-job. she seemed liek someone off of saturday night live, in a bad way. we got to the arena around 4:30, an hour and a half before the doors open(because we're cool like that). we got these white wrist bands that let us be some of the first 250 in the doors. we were about 3 people from the front. the first band was called the format, and i thought they were really good. the get up kids went next. they had a lot of problems with their sound(mics and amps not working, p.a. going out), they were good though. up next was thrice. what i thought was weird was they set up the majority of their gear themselves. eddie's bass wasn't working through the whole first song so dustin played an acoustic cover of the song "radio" while they tried to get that sorted out. after that they played 'silhouette', one of my favorites, and it was awesome. tepei wasn't really moving a lot, dustin said he hurt his back. dustin did an acoustic version of 'stare at the sun'. i thought taita was really good, as well. all the girls around me, including lauren and emily haha, couldn't stand them and wished everyone would stop moshing. anywho, alexandra and jenni found us, which was cool, and then finally dashboard went on. chris started off solo playing 'swiss army romance'. after that, the whole band came in and they did a full-band version of 'standard lines', which was really cool, especially since they didn't play that last time they were in town in september. around then, lauren told me she started to feel light-headed, so we went to go get water. when we came back we decided to stand back by in the middle because it was cooler and there was a lot more room. being close for the first few bands was great, but i couldn't take heat and claustraphobia-ness of it. after a few songs emily came back and found us. dashboard played basically everything off their unplugged album, as well as an extended version of remember to breathe where chris sang lyrics from brand new's song 'i will play my game beneath the spin light'. they did an encore which included their new song 'vindicated'. chris gave some quick speech about the aids rate in our age group is spiking and wearing condoms, where he said 'it feels real good, but if you are going to do the deed, where a condom'. hahaha, you could here all these girls going 'omg..', great stuff. ashley picked lauren and i up and then we went to house of pie to eat a late night breakfast =). all and all, i had a totally awesome time. mad props to ashley for picking us up and to emily for being the shiznit.

sunday was basically a day of laying in bed watching tv. woo.

today(monday), i woke up to my phone ringing. my mom was calling me saying she would pick me up to take me to my guitar lesson in a few minutes. crap. i got ready real fast and then i was off. after that, i came home and tino and jaston came over and we had a mini-band practice. as emily would say...rock.

lauren came over tonight and we just lied around. after she left, ashley took me to starbuck's since i have been craving that, but when we got there we found out the close five minutes ago..soo then we went to sonic where i got this discusting orange cremeslush thing. yuck, don't get it.

oh yeah! i totally forgot about this. at the concert when thrice played, dustin(singer of thrice) threw a guitar pick out and it hit someone on the head a few yards from me and hit the ground. i couldn't look for it then so i said when it was over i would. well after dashboard ended i went looking for it, and sure enough, underneath the edge of one of the barrier things was the pick 8-). also, when emily, lauren, and i went to go look at the merch, the hallway was deserted. this real tiny guy walked down a flight of stairs infront of us and started walking ahead of us. emily and lauren noticed it was the singer of the format. he was really tiny, only coming up to my chin. anyway, i got a picture with him(he commented on the coolness of my digital camera), and he signed my shirt. 8-) X 2
