I ran to Trader Joe's tonight for mushrooms for part of our dinner (spinach & mushroom burritos). They had no mushrooms, but I bought $60 worth of other stuff and then decided to check out the new Vons (Safeway) that just opened a few doors down. Woah. This is the nicest Vons ever. It's all upscale and fancy with nice lighting and a nice looking wine shop. It's crazy that it's Vons. It felt like Whole Foods. And it's kinda weird, too, because it's actually in two separate buildings, and you enter in a courtyard between the two buildings. To the left is the building with the produce and deli stuff, and to the right is everything else. Flowers are sold in the courtyard. It's so nice it actually makes me want to shop at Vons.

He sat on this ice just looking at us, waiting for one of us to pick him up after he'd slipped.
No way was he going to put his hands on that stuff.
