So I am writing an essay for a college application (yes I am reapplying to school to finish a bachelors degree, I'm trying to not be stubborn). I'm kind of having trouble thinking of ideas, as the only bands I can come up with to write about I don't know a lot of background about. For all I know the answer could be right under my nose and I don't realize it. Anyway, here is the essay topic:
Critical essay. Choose a popular solo artist, duo, or group in any genre of music in the last 50 years who you feel could have benefited from better promotion. Discuss how this artist was promoted. Imagine you were an executive in the recording industry. How would you have promoted this artist differently? Please limit your response to three double-spaced typed pages.
If you can suggest a band and some info, it would help me out a ton, and not to rush or anything, but I am looking to send this out by Sunday/Monday.
In other news, the Smoke or Fire CD is really good. I am making plans to go to Philly to see Smoke or Fire and Against Me! There is a parade of Mexicans going down my street and they have a zombie Jesus. I got another parking ticket, only there was just an envelope.
