swine flu and the idiocy thereof
Okay, I've seen two posts about the Swine Flu so far on my flist, which isn't all too many, so I hope the rest of you aren't bombarded and gonna haterape me for this, but...
Another post about the swine flu.
Okay, I'm going to say here and now: I have no idea the statistics, facts, how dangerous or not dangerous it is, any of that. I do know that there have been no cases within two states of ours, though that is a simple airplane ride away from being changed, logically.
What I do know, though, cracked me up.
I'm gonna be blunt here, because it's not funny if I'm not. If it offends you... You're on my flist, so you know I don't mean it offensively.
The muslims and islamic people are offended by the name 'swine flu', because they don't like pigs. They want their sicknesses to be kosher, idk. Never mind that the swine flu did, in fact, come from swine.
They suggest instead to call it the 'mexican flu'.
Because in their opinion, that's entirely less offensive.
Good job, guys. Good job.
