I remember seeing a similiar poll several times, only without Franky. But still, it's rather pointless to say how sad, since if you're living it they're all pretty bad pasts.
[This is probably the third time I'm posting something like this. Only this time with a little of Franky and more of Robin.]
But still, if I had to pick one, I'd pick Robin. Living as a kid without being accepted is quite similiar to Chopper, even down to the fact that there were several people she's closer to but still faraway from. But then, 20 years of escaping the World Governmment, that's downright scary actually. And judging from the fact that this is the StrawHats and they're all relatively nice people, having to betray people again and again would hurt a lot

I don't know if being pursued by the World Government was really the worst part of it, though. I see Robin's tragedy as her inability to trust people: she spent 20 years running from one group to another, each used as a shield and discarded, reinforcing her belief that there is nobody she can trust to protect her, noone strong enough to help her survive by staying with her, only those strong enough to maybe slow down her pursuers.
Robin is a close one, but I felt Chopper's story was sadder. Not only was he treated as a freak since he was born due to his blue nose, but he was rejected even further after eating his Devil Fruit. Not to mention, since he was tossed aside by his family and herd for having a blue nose and becoming a freak of a reigndeer, he ended up eventually becoming unaccepted by humans as well. Even to the point of nearly being killed

I hated Robin's backstory, though. It dragged on forever and honestly, I didn't care. She's just there to advance the plot, and giving her an angsty backstory didn't make me relate to her or anything.

But, on the positive side, when she and Franky team up, they rock so hard. Robin needs a strong man like Franky to make her more interesting. XD

i do agree to some extent, though, i wish she would fight more and stuff DDD: so lazy

But at last I choose Franky. Simple because when he tried to stop the train with his bare hands was too much drama for an emotional guy like me T_T
