I have so much I would like to say. 13 years ago today I received my new lungs. The very thought of it makes me so happy. Do you know that I have had these lungs longer than I had my original ones? The last few days have been spent helping family members move. Both my sister and Mammaw are moving at the exact same time and it has been very tiring. The heat has been no help at all either. It is the end of a very long but happy day.  My Commencement Ceremony was today as well as my nieces 9th birthday.  I have been up since 6:00am.  They decided to have it at the UD Arena and that place has no air conditioning, which is why I think they had it so early in the morning.  I had to be there before 8:45am and got there  at 8:30am.  The ( Read more... )

My Great Aunt Phyllis found this old picture of me. It was right before my transplant. I am about 11 or 12 years old. It shows how sick I really was. I was about 30-40 pounds underweight. Over the last week I have been experiencing severe back pain.  After it didn't go away for awhile I started to worry.  With me, prolonged back pain usually is one of two things; my digestive system or ovarian cysts.  The cure for either one is horrible.  Drink something nasty or have surgery.  Though I guess I would rather drink that stuff than ( Read more... )
