William had been in front of his trunk, neatly folding clothing. Everything had been removed from the wardrobe already -- the Parker children were all taught efficiency. He looked up when she walked in and smirked. Her kiss to his cheek was a surprise, but he didn't act like it.

"You may help me fold these, or you may get those --" he gestured to his bookshelf, "-- out and put them in the trunk as well. Up to you really, my dear. Will you be sleeping here tonight?"

She watched for a moment the care he took in putting away his things. Her own trunks? She had practically just tossed what was in them so far into them. It wasnt like her to take time with things like that - she'd rather just get it done and worry about wrinkles in her clothes later.

"No," she replied quietly as she made her way to his bookshelf. Goodness, he had books up there that she hadn't seen before in her life! As she pulled a few down, then walked back over to him to gently lay them into his trunk, she continued. "I plan on taking the first train out."

Good. Perhaps he was waiting until later to depart himself? She knew that some were going on the afternoon train, and others, waiting until their parents were available to get them. Hopefully for him, it was the latter. Would make sneaking off so much easier.

"I am as well." William folded a beautiful suit and laid it into the trunk. He watched her putting his books away. "Please be careful when putting my things away." She was being quite ... docile, wasn't she? How odd.

"Are you packed, Adelle?"

"Of course," she replied quietly. Immediately, she took a bit more care in slipping his books into the trunk. She even offered up a smile to him as she turned and headed to the bookcase.

Salazar's glory, he likely had more books than the entire library. Not that she'd know if he did or didn't - she rarely visited the place. If she needed a book, she'd either send her sister or another little Slytherin girl who looked up to her far too much off to fetch it.

As she pulled a few more books down, she had to pause to wonder who this Shakespeare fellow was, and why William seemed to own every book he had ever written. With a sigh, she brushed hair behind her ear, then moved back to join him.

"No.. not yet packed. Gieselinde normally helps me, but it seems Pater took her with him when he left.. whenever he left."

"I can help you," William offered. He set the last of his clothes in the trunk as well, everything neat and orderly and in its place. He looked at his bed. "Or..." He shrugged. "You can sleep, with me, and then I'll help you."

Adelle paused mid-placement of a book in his trunk. She swallowed, then looked up at him.

...was he propositioning her?

Clearing her throat, she looked back down. "I-I.. I'm not sure that would be a good idea. We haven't the time to clean up before departure."

She couldn't very well deny him of anything.. he was her betrothed! And if she denied him of anything now, after acting so sweet and giving, he'd suspect something for sure.

But she'd sure as hell try to talk him out of it.

"Very well." William waved a hand absently; his mind wasn't really on her any more, as he was emptying drawers and making sure he had everything. "I'll see you tomorrow then, Adelle. I hope you sleep well."

He wasn't usually so sweet. It was born of tiredness and preoccupation. "Good night."

Her brow rose. She had expected more of a struggle.

"Oh.. oh, alright then." she replied, then quickly made her way out.

...too easy.
