Envy Adams is a hot damn mess.
Unfortunately, that's actually putting it nicely. Ever since Scott Pilgrim waltzed back into her life and headbutted her boyfriend Todd into a pile of coins, she has been absolutely inconsolable. Lynette has long since stopped trying to cheer her up, and has moved onto the next tour stop, leaving Envy to her own devices.
The result is far from pretty. Envy used to pride herself in how picture-perfect she looked, took such pleasure in knowing that every girl in her audiences wanted to be her. They wouldn't want to be her now, though. They'd want to be anyone but her.
She's stopped caring about her time- and money-consuming hair and skin care routines. She looks unnaturally pale, with dark circles under her eyes and long mascara trails down her face. (From two days ago. She hasn't yet bothered to wash them out.)
She's also given up the high stilettos and minidresses that she used to love parading around in. Todd wasn't there to tell her how great her butt looked in them, so what was the point anymore?
She's spent the past few days in her old high school sweatpants and an ill-fitting tank top, with pints of Ben & Jerry's strewn all across the floor. The TV has also been set to Lifetime for the past week, where the trials and tribulations of abused mothers makes her wail at the top of her lungs. You'd never guess that Envy was the hottest singer in indie rock right now. She's fallen hard and fast, and she needs someone to lift her back up to the top. To remind her that the top is where she belongs.
