Peter had fretted most of the morning, not letting himself go down to see Susan until he was sure Jon would be out and she was up and settled into her day. No need to confront her first thing in the morning.

He came up carefully, knocking gently on the doorframe. "Hullo? Anyone home?" He called quietly.

Susan went to the door at once, happy to hear Peter's voice. "For you? Always," she said, greeting him with a warm hug. "Come on in. I was just making tea."

He hugged her back, smiling broadly. "Is Jon home?" He didn't really want to upset the household any more than he already had. "I don't want to disturb you."

"You're not disturbing me, don't be daft," Susan assured him. "Jon's doing his IPD patrol with Robb just now, he'll be back in a couple of hours; Rickon's napping, and Lucy's at school."
