watching this week
I have a pretty full weekend coming up, so I might have difficulty finding time to watch things. Like the ending of Queen In-Hyun's Man, and the next Bridal Mask. I don't know when I'm going to get a chance to watch them. Timing.
Before the weekend comes, I'll have time for stuff I think. I've watched six episodes of Patriotic Knights, where it seems like almost everyone's a villain... and at the moment I'm trying to figure out why "Patriotic Knights" is the official translation of 侠骨丹心... which as far as I can tell, means something like "hero bone loyalty". Okay, wikipedia tells me it means "Chivalrous Bones and Loyal Heart". Titles in Mandarin sometimes make me feel like I've learned nothing at all.
I've gone a bit farther watching Office Girls, which has all the depth of... a fairly not-deep thing (words, they hate me)... but it makes me smile, and sometimes making me smile is all a show has to do. I like that even though Qin Zi Qi is rich and spoiled and entitled, the show lets you know pretty quickly that there's a decent man in there. Naturally Xing Ren sees him feeding a puppy, because that's perfect. He pays for a delivery for her, even though he doesn't really know her and he doesn't have much money this year. He hates the position he's been put in, but he tries to help her.
So we have Time Travel Love Story, 1930s Vigilante Noir Angstfest, This Week's Wuxia, and Show That Cheers Me Up. Seems like a full plate.
