I was reading that this show didn't do very well, and ended up being much shorter than planned. After watching the first episode, I'm stunned. I'm already fascinated by Ja-Myung and Lahee and Lodong, and the production is lovely. I could be disappointed later, but it feels like the kind of historical drama I enjoy -- less of the plotting and bickering around tables, more of the interesting characters in beautiful landscapes, and an absorbing (if doomed all around, I'm sure) romantic triangle. And female characters who don't appear to be confined to small rooms waiting around for something to happen.
This one goes on my Continue Watching list.
eta: I was just reading that the first dozen or so episodes (after the first?) are prolog, about the characters as young people. That sounds like a glacial pace... there might be some fast forwarding through that. We'll see.
