ambiguity part four

Oct 11, 2011 08:43

Sometimes my eyes want to take a long nap. These pairs/groups are kind of... similar, aren't they?

辛 -- 幸
时 -- 的
热 -- 熟
兴 -- 光 -- 米
夫 -- 失 -- 末 -- 未 (those four kill me)
受 爱

The last two are particularly fun, since the first means "to suffer" and the second means "to love". Maybe they're meant to be confused after all.

I've really been falling behind on my hanzi studies. I'm very focused on speaking/listening, rather than reading/writing, even though I know how learning the characters can sometimes help me understand how the words work.

eta: Speaking of Chinese characters, they're really hard to add to a livejournal icon and still be readable. I spent over an hour trying last night and gave up. Maybe I'm just going about it the wrong way.
