busy last month. no, I never got the white castles in the midwest. frozen ones do not compensate for real ones. went to midwest, texas, california, then back to new zealand and now waiting to hear if I can get a dentist's appointment, and packing up my stuff to move. again. which seems kind of overwhelming because I'm a books/records/clothes kind of person, and because moving internationally twice in 7 months is kind of a challenge for anyone, even the light travellers. more on this later, as I have a few thoughts on moving back to the usa.
oh, and an old guy had a heart attack on the flight back to nz! I was in the bulkhead seats behind a thin partition from the toilet aisle where they laid him out to revive him. yes, in real life, the call for "a medical doctor on board" over the intercom, the flight attendant on the phone to the ground as the doctors restarted his heart and performed cpr. He made some scary sputtery gutteral noises when revived, but he did not die. We did not have to stop in Hawaii which was the closest airport at the time, or turn back to San Francisco. There were 6 ambulance staff waiting when we got to Auckland, so he must have made it for 8 more hours till we got there. There was a big tour group of Texan retirees on board, so statistically it was more likely than usual that someone would try to bite the big one, pop their clogs, cark it, etc. in the air. Still, it was the first time I've seen it and a little bit unnerving.
just got a call from the dentist, appt at 2:45
