Where did I leave off last time? Oh right, the new job. Well, I started work on March 22 and was in training for 2 weeks. That went fairly well. Then I did a week of on-the-job training at a different branch (which could've gone better since I was really nervous, but overall I think I did ok). Officially started my position at the Haymarket branch on April 12th, so I've been here a month now. I think I'm settling in well. I love the people I work with. Our Head Teller/Teller Coordinator Julie is amazing and I'm learning a lot from her (she's also very patient with all of my questions. :P ). After a month I'm not as nervous, and I'm asking for help less. I still don't have everything down perfectly (there are a few complicated procedures that I'm still not completely comfortable with, but I can do most of the regular, everyday transactions quickly and accurately).
So except for the occasional stressful moments, I'm loving this job so far. Much more satisfying than the LAST job (but that's not saying much, haha), I'm making more money, I have HEALTH INSURANCE, and I'm much more relaxed overall. Been sleeping better too. Though I'm still not used to this whole "getting up early" thing. I'm starting to get sleepy around 10pm now. I'm turning into an old lady already. D:
In other news: I've semi-completed one of my other resolutions for the year. I signed on an apartment in Somerset Pointe in Gainesville and will be moving in mid-July. ^o^ I'll be living with my friend Brandy (and eventually one more). I had originally wanted to move out before my birthday in June, but this is close enough. I at least have everything signed and set before my original goal date, so I guess that counts. Now I'm busy hunting down furniture and other necessities and saving up money for the first month's rent and other initial fees. It feels oddly satisfying.
I know I've reached adulthood when I start getting excited about things like furniture and health insurance... Maybe I should start shopping around for cemetery plots while I'm at it. x_x
A month from friday is my 24th birthday. Not sure what I want to do, but since it's on a Monday this year, the celebrations will more than likely be the weekend preceding it (either Saturday or Sunday). Rosie's party at Dave & Busters was fun, so I was considering doing that, but since it's in Maryland it might be a bit of a trek for some people (even via Metro). We'll see what happens. I may just be uncreative and decide to do something else more low-key.
Also, I had to pick a week for my vacation this year, and I didn't really have anything specific so I just picked a week in the middle of September (plus the time I'm attempting to take off in July, but we'll see where that goes). I'm trying to decide what I should do with this week off. I'd like to possibly go somewhere but I'm at a loss as to where I should go or what I could afford to do. Any ideas?
