Valentines weekend & lentine musings...

Feb 16, 2010 12:43

So this weekend myself & lemming-man headed up North to meet up with family. Friday night was my parents & my friend Clare (winolj) when we went out for a tasty, albeit belated, birthday meal for my mum. We also decided that Port is nicer than Madeira.

Saturday lemming-man's dad stopped by for lunch & met my parents then took us up to Manchester (sans my parents) for little F's christening (lemming-man's niece). We stayed with lemming-man's mum (who we've not seen in over a year) & I got to meet some family friends who were fun (especially after wine!) Sunday lemming-man's mum was slightly panicky over setting up for the post-christening party (including walking in on us whilst we were naked in bed to get ribbon out of the cupboard!). Ceremony & party were pretty much as expected, with additional tasty chocolate cake! We left with lemming-man's dad relatively early & drove all the way back to Reading. Not exactly how I'd have planned to sped valentines day myself but it wasn't bad. I think we'll go back to Modelworld next year though! lol.

And.... It seems that lent has rolled around again. Pondering what to give up... Can't give up snacking (dr's orders), chocolate/sweets possible although I'd have to eat up the open sweets first or they'll dry out. Also chocolate is a cheap, handy way to quickly increase my sugar levels in the office. Maybe we could give up takeaways... Any thoughts anyone?
