Okay, I think you're reading too much into the hair. I mentioned it once, and it was in reference to blending into the crowd.

You're reading way too much into it. The hair thing I got from that one episode, which had Chiyo coming to class with ribbons, and Sakaki pictured himself in them and was sad because it wasn't as cute.
