Yesterday at yoga was really great. My calves in particular have been really sore as I have significantly upped my level of activity. (I always walk everywhere and had been going weekly or biweekly hiking with
majes, but now I have been adding 20-30 minutes of jogging at the gym. I have no idea what got into me. I am not a runner at all, but apparently I have decided I should jog.) Mostly this was not an issue except for some of the balance poses, which above and beyond the challenge of the balance part, my calves were like "you want us to do what? with no help?!"
A totally new pose for us though, was
Eye of the Needle, also known as Supine Pigeon Pose, which felt like an epiphany after the struggling I have been doing
trying to figure out Pigeon Pose. Cue the angelic chorus! It is a very gentle version, and I think ultimately I will still want to master Pigeon Pose, but this is a great way to start limbering up that whole area without as much risk to tearing something if done incorrectly. Very excited about it!
