Lelouch vi Britannia
As stated in the previous plotting post concerning the AU event, Lelouch is going to be the head of the Britannia family, an extremely affluent family in Somarium. Most people know them, and those who don't know them want to know them. The young Lelouch vi Britannia stepped up to the position of head of the family when both his father and mother suffered a tragic death. As both of his brothers were busy with family business and other ventures, he felt it was his duty to take the position his father once held and dirty his hands.
Most people probably realize he is fairly young to be doing what he does, but they dare not question it.
The Britannia family is responsible for a tremendous amount of city expansion, as well as other things like several popular auction houses and a large hand in the Somarium Stock Exchange and S&E 500 (Somni & Espoir 500). Their biggest business, what they are most known for, is the Britannia Construction Company, a company specializing in general contracting with expertise in building construction management and industrial design.
Lelouch is the CEO of the Britannia Construction Company, while his brother Schneizel is the CFO. Their other brother, Clovis, is in charge of their auction houses, organizing weekly auctions and the buying and selling of expensive art, furniture, and other collector items.
Those things, however, are just a cover for the Britannia crime family, a Prohibition-era crime syndicate that specializes in smuggling and bootlegging liquor, conspiracy, arms trafficking, loansharking, illegal gambling, money laundering, fencing (the purchase and sale of stolen property), prostitution, murder, extortion, fraud and contract killing.
As a result of their crime syndicate and their heavy hand in the sale of liquor and organized gambling, the local casinos are (in part) owned by the Britannia family.
They have many contacts throughout the entire city as well as other families (like the Phantomhive family) that have been absorbed into their crime syndicate.
