yay!
Thanks for the details! (it was good to have the reassurance that I'll get an artist and that there's a good chance to get an audience for my fic- that's something that'd been bothering me)

Ps.- just finished my rough draft yesterday and submitted it!
Hope the others out there are doing wonderfully too.
And Oh, Thank you so much for this community- it made the BB so much more fun *hugs you, mods*

*glares at icon* LJ won't behave and let me grab my mod icon. But I can tell youbyou will absolutely get an artist. Wendy makes sure everyone gets and artist and if your artist drops out, you get a new one. And there is definitely an audience. The bigbang is the best way to find your audience because so very many people read it.

no chance of doing that speed writing thing an hour later as well?
I still need to get to the ending, but I don't wake up until 3.00 AM GMT and I have to be at work two hours later...

Getting really desperate, still at least two chapters to go (so far I've already written ten) and only two more days to write, (I got that right, right?) arrggghh, I just need them to beat the bad guy, find out the truth and I'm there, why is it so hard to end stories?

Oh yes. I expect to run a lot of speed writing tonight. At this point, for my own sanity I am planning to run speed writing challenges at 9, 10, and 11 PDT, each one lasting 45 minutes with a 15 minute breather in between.

I need this speed writing as much as the next person as I've essentially backed myself into the position of writing my entire rough draft in 3 days. At least I have it more or less plotted now and I have a story idea I don't hate.

I submitted mine because I'm away from home for the next two days but I dunno if it makes sense! It's just a bit above 20k and a lot of it is rather abstract, though mostly everything except excised subplots are there.

You're fine. Have you received a check-in email from the bigbang mods?

If anyone is interested in a similar challenge about 4 hours earlier, I'd be up for that. :)

Four hours later would work fine for me, I think. But I'm not sure about the mods?

You're welcome to post to the comm to start your own speed writing challenge at an earlier or later time, but I probably won't be able to participate or chime in as I'll be working until at least 7pm PDT, amd probablt later. As long as you don't get into a fight on the comm, have at it!

Thanks for the offer! If there's interest for it at a later point, I'd be willing to participate or do those start/stop posts. Earlier won't work for me because I'll be off to bed now, it's long after midnight here.

However this works out, good luck everyone! Write write write :)

I have 2,000 words left after writing close to 3K today. I'm already thinking about the rewrite and my draft probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense at this point, so I think my email to my artist is going to include several paragraphs detailing the changes I'm planning to make. But it *will* get done!

That's the way to do it. Get your draft done and turned in and wlrry about rewrites later. There is plenty of opportunity to dialogue with your artist about what the final draft will look like.
