[mod post] Introductions and Housekeeping 2014
Welcome to omgspnbigbang 2014. This is the official support community for the fabulous spn-j2-bigbang.
It's that time of year again! At the time of this posting author and artist signups for the spn-j2-bigbang oopen in less than a week! So it's time for a new introductions post and some housekeeping.
First, welcome! paleogymnast here. I'm one of your lovely omgspnbigbang mods. Please keep in mind that while we are the official support community for the bigbang, we are not the same entity. We have different mods. So while we will do our best to answer any and all questions about the omgspnbigbang, if you need the official mod's word on anything related to the bigbang, please check in at tue bigbang comm or with wendy or one of the other bigbang mods.
For questions related to this community, you've come to the right place.
Next, we are in need of volunteers! What do we need volunteers for? Well all kinds of awesome things! We would love to have a volunteer banner maker or two. From time to time this community runs mini challlenges to help and inspire bigbangers to finish their stories or art. We would like to give out awards for these challenges, but the existing mods don't always have time in their busy schedules to get these done.
We also need subject matter experts or SMEs for short. These are folks who know lots about a particular profession, hobby, geographic area, subject, historical period, etc., and who are willing to help out their fellow bigbang participants by answering the occasional question.
We also need betas, cheerleaders, and art betas! While there are several coms devoted to betas in general, many writers and artists come here looking for bigbang betas, and we'd love to help writers, authors, and artists connect.
Beginning on Monday, January 13th, the first day of bigbang signups, we'll have the first of our weekly check-in posts. We will also have periodic challenges to spark your creativity and keep you working toward your goal.

Are you an overworked college student, a busy professional, a first-time writer? Are you signing up as an artist and desperately watching the clock eager for it to be May so you can claim a fic? Are yoh here to cheerlead, anxiously awaiting the day you can sit down and read all the fics and experience the wonderful art? Maybe you're a sci fi and horror junkie and Supernatural is just one of your many fandoms? Or perhaps, you're a die-hard fan who's been to every. single. Supernatural convention held on your continent (and some on different continents). Here's your chance to let people know more about you as a fan, a writer, an artist, and an individual.
Step right up! Don't be shy. There's no requirement that you participate, but here is your platform to let everyone know all about the awesome person that is you.
