Vroom!

Summarily, I drove everywhere. Es did, too. On Friday, we started out just before noon and drove all the way down to almost-D.C. just to get my wallet (we switched drivers about halfway, in south Jersey). It was a successful mission, and there was even some money left in it (six whole cents, but better than what I expected)! I'm not unconvinced that the Lost and Found people stole my money, though. ... I'd like to plant a wallet with fake money, turn up the next day to claim it, and find out if that's what happened. Because really, who puts business cards BACK IN the wallet? Anyway, so that was an all-day adventure, and good practice for the Toronto trip. Don't remember quite what time we got back -- it was still on the early side, not even ten o'clock -- but as soon as I got home, I packed for the trip up to Albany on Saturday. I stayed with Es at her place, since it would be easier to travel from there.

Saturday afternoon, we jumped right on I-87 and, with me driving, were in Albany in about two hours. Albany's about 150 miles (240 km) from Es, so, yes: I drive very fast, and I love to drive very fast. At least I'm not one of those scary fast drivers; I was just keeping up with (and often passing) traffic. Without looking at the speedometer, I had no idea I was up over 95 at times....

We waited in Emily's dorm until about a half-hour before her show, met her suitemates (I remember their names!), and watched the first half of Inglorious Basterds (BEAR JEW! *_*). Emily's show was *amazing,* as were the Binghamton Crosbys, who opened for them. I didn't expect the skits, but they were cute, and there were some really powerful voices coming from the Dips, oh my gosh. Hard to believe that it took two hours, it felt like one. Less, even.

And Emily's little sibs are so cute. I recognized her dad from Em's sister's wedding photos -- also they were the only two little kids around, so that was easy -- so I felt like a creeper. XD

We got back to Em's dorm and ordered food -- that was a fiasco -- and watched the rest of the movie, falling out about 12:30, before Emily came home. We got up around 12:30 as well. Hung out for a very long time because it was Sunday and we could, and then we went out to eat and go home.

The ride home was about an hour longer: it was night and raining, we were going to my place instead of Es' (that was an extra, what, 25 miles (40 km)?), and she doesn't have the lead foot that I do. But it was the easiest drive ever, even in poor conditions, so I wouldn't mind driving up to Albany again. Man, it's a lot different when you're in the front of the car and you can see everything, as opposed to sitting in the back of the car with an annoying sibling and car sickness (I have family in Troy, which is right next to Albany, and for some reason, my dad took longer getting up there than I did, despite that I know I drive like he does (the speeding, the swearing, everything. But at least we're entertaining). And it sucked when I was a kid).

Pretty much just unpacked and collapsed; Es stayed here because she was exhausted and a bit under the weather and it was still raining. I don't blame her, really. She left at ten this morning to go to work. I went back to sleep.

I'm doing laundry now (and the thong on my ... thong ... broke, FFFFFF! The floor is COLD). THAT WAS MY WEEKEND. :V I drove, what, nearly four hundred miles in a twenty-four hour stretch? *fleeeeeex* I like driving (in a car that's comfy). It's fun. I could do it forever. *_*

day off, life, friends
