But I won't.
So, it's been about one and a half months since I last posted. For the most part I spent most of that time in Virginia, visiting Aislinn and her family.
It was really nice. Didn't do much of anything, but I didn't need to do anything there except check out Virginia Tech, and I did that. The weather out there was different,
hot of course, but it wasn't too long before I was able to adapt. The rain was different too, it came in intense thunderstorms during my time there. Just massive outpourings of
rain. I liked that. The area around were I was at was all a bunch of valleys and hills and foothills ("mountains"). It seemed to make the Puget Sound area where I live seem quite flat.
I spent most of my spending money there on food. About $200 was spent on sushi alone, but that was almost everything I bought, so it's ok.
Leaving was expectedly difficult. And it was harder being the one who's leaving/walking off than not.
So I got back on the 14th. And spent the next week sitting around. Then i worked a couple days at Tesoro. Applied for some new jobs.
And then Friday, my manager at Tesoro mentioned that her daughter was visiting because she was involved with filming a NW band, Go Like Hell. And she was talking about music, probably either to learn about the band more, or perhaps to get me to go see the band. Either way, I brought up the Capitol Hill Block Party that happened Friday &Saturday the 28th and 29th because Murder City Devils was reuniting for a show. My manager got a bit excited and went to call her daugther, and after that when I was dropping of some paperwork, told me that her daughter had tickets to the Block Party already, but might not be able to go, and was I interested in the tickets. Well of course I was, and i got a call the next day (saturday) saying that i could have the tickets. So I go grab them, and then after eating and getting gas, head out to Seattle. Unfortunately I park was on the other end of Pike St. down by the Showbox/ Pike Place Market. So I have a long walk up to Capitol Hill. I get there in time to catch MInus the Bear, which was awesome. Then I saw The Divorce, another nice band. Then Black Angels plays, which I didn't care for, followed by what a writer for the Stranger, Charles Mudede "This is fucking hip-hop. Fuck you." Common Market, which did put on a great show. And what I found funny, the rapper thew the horns about mid-way through the set, because they were rocking.
Then came the Murder City Devils. And the crowd became even more packed and crowded. Then they started to play, and then entire audience became a mosh arena. Unfortunately it was the first experience I've had with such a active and moving audience. And for the most part I did just fine. It was pretty impressive to catch the show, even if I could hardly see the band itself.
So anyways, the show ends at 11pm, and I walk back to my car.Once I get into the parking garage and to my car, I discover that my passenger seat is covered in glass. My glove compartment is open, and my radio is gone. I go, talk to the guy working the booth to see what I need to do. And basically, I can only report it to the police. My insurance doesn't cover this. So i need to repair my window at the least which the insurance guy I talked to said was about $210. Crap. At least what they stole was less valuable than the window. The radio I got second-hand for about $30, and I only had One CD and 2 DVDs in the case they took (which would probably be the most expensive to replace). So this turned a perfectly good day into a fucking crappy one.
