Lucky Charms!

Does anybody eat Lucky Charms anymore? I suppose it has been way over 20 years since I had a bite of Lucky Charms they're-magically-delicious cereal, but I can remember the kind of stale, sugary marshmallow charms that were in them and I can remember sitting there with the bowl full of milk, the charms floating to the top and picking out each one.

I still have Lucky Charms once in awhile, when I'm feeling really down (I'm sure all that sugar is one of the worst things I could do just then). That's one of my comfort foods.

I remember my mom used to make these fried salmon balls all the time -- made with bread, batter dipped and fried. Salmon is just too expensive over here for us to do that, plus if I do get it I want to eat it plain because I love it so much. Also, I have no idea how to make them and probably never will.

I think my mom made something similar, like broiled crab balls or something. I never ate them though. I loved her garlic stuffed mushroom caps though....hungry just thinking about them.

Hmmm...I remember one year as a kid my parents gave us a huge box filled with several different types of cereal. All the kinds we were never allowed to eat and we spent the next few months slowly eating out way through them b/c we didn't want to go back to Cheerios.
My kid will have to eat Lucky Charms b/c I still love them myself. I never eat them, but now I just may have to. I'm going to do my best to keep my kids away from Doritos and oreos and all the junk food.

Cool story. I remember wanting those mini boxes of cereal they still have at hotel breakfast buffets. Can you buy those in the stores still? Anyway...I know what you mean about the Cheerios...I remember not being able to eat them unless I dumped a load of sugar on them. :-)
