It's funny but my usual routine after seeing a movie is looking it up on tvtropes.org.

I quite enjoyed this movie (nqn you were right!!). It was so obviously made by nerds. INITIATING COFFEE BREAK! XD So I guess I'd like to take back some of the things I said about it before.

But... I understand that some things were probably made in the Rule of Read more... )

science!, movies

It was playing since October in US, theaters are just stupid slow here.

And yeah, haha, it does make you hungry, especially before THE DISASTER STRIKES. I was watching it with a friend, and we HAD to go and get some fastfood after it. XD

And definitely watch it! Maybe it's not OMG BEST MOVIE EVER but quite good anyway. :D

YYYYEEEEEEEESSSSS

I think this was my favourite movie this year. :D I enjoyed it so much. x)

HIS LAB IS THE COOLEST THING EVER

THE WAY HE WALKS

THE FLYING CAR IS TOTALLY A DELOREAN

SNOWBALL!!!

My friend got the Art Of book and brought it to school. It is suuuuch a nice book. It has giant scratch-and-sniff food stickers! And a LOT of awesome concept art and aaahhh. I need to order it too. :B

I just love how it doesn't have the typical "3D look". It says in the art book that they wanted it to have more of a very 2D, limited animation style. Which I thought worked REALLY well. I LOVED the animation. 8D

SO MUCH YES! 8D Gah, I already want to watch it again. :B

I think my book is without stickers (I'm not sure but it was released by two publishers, and the only difference seems to be the cover and lack of stickers) BUT ANYWAY. Yay concept art!

And yeees, the style! 8D One of my first thoughts was "this 3D is very... 2D-ish". I kind of wish they had more rough painty textures (like backgrounds in Bolt) instead of smooth ones to fit the limited style, but I have no idea if it would actually work and it was pretty good as it was. 8)

I really enjoyed it, too. And I agree, I'm a bit too science-minded to completely buy the "radiation can do anything!" idea (what's the trope again? ILoveNuclearRadiation or something? XD) but was willing to stuff down my annoyance because the rest was pretty great.

Kudos to Sony for doing something completely different (especially artwise!) every time they make a film. Best animated film of the year? Nah. I might've even waited for the cheap theater if I hadn't thought it'd be a great thing to take my brother to. But I'm glad I went.

Also, +1000 points for the love interest getting more attractive to the hero once she let her geek hang out :D

It's mostly Elements Do Not Work That Way but yes, with a bit of I Love Nuclear Power. XD

And YES, it was really adorable because usually it's the other way round and I think I lost hope on seeing something like that in a movie. :B That and it actually made Sam a more stand alone character that just a love interest.
