Oh man, of COURSE Alak would be the most charming little boy who ever lived, and Stahma would be insanely proud of him and want nothing more than to make him happy and safe, especially safe, even to giving away half of her food to her disgusting mugger.
I really like the dominus/domina courtesies. Like, a lot. A LOT.
And good goddamn, Datak is scary in this--as Stahma points out, he's scary because he's SCARED. Do not fuck with his wife and son or he will fuck you up so hard you will never come back down. And how quickly he tamps the ragegasm back down to comfort him family.
And and AND. Right at the end when he's talking about how he's going to find the bastard and kill him hard, it's so very THEM that Stahma doesn't try to dissuade him or convince him to do otherwise--she just wants him to hold her.

I think Stahma was really hoping that offering him the stuff would prove him to be a thief but like, a good-hearted one? She doesn't mind sharing, she just prefers it to be on her terms, but this was not going to be a good deal and she can't fight him because Alak is there and he could get hurt and worst, worst!
Also, pretty sure Datak destroyed this guy later, specifically because how freaked out he was. He was able to lock it down (again, because of Alak) but oh damn, this was not going to fly.
Stahma knows that telling him 'no bb don't do that' is kind of pointless- she knows the position he has in the community, and his reputation, and what he has to do to keep that reputation (carry chains around threatening, apparently) but she's like, killing later, cuddles now.

If there's one thing Stahma's learned, being married to Datak, it's that there are good criminals and bad ones; clearly, she was hoping this would be one of the good ones.
Also, since he proved himself to be a completely horrible person, there was really no point in trying to convince Datak not to kill the rat. It's her upper-class prejudices talking, but surely the streets would be safer if they were cleansed of such people... and for once, he agrees with her.

Well, there's saying everyone deserves a chance and them watching them take that chance to prey on women rendered defenseless due to the presence of their small children.
