laitaine2004 finished it Sunday. I had to take a day off from work.
But I finally finished the thing...
So here's my note to Steve Kloves:
(or Michael Goldenberg, or whoever else ends up writing the script for Deathly Hallows)
(
Why yes, there are SPOILERS here... )
I LOVED Harry's march to his death - one of the best scenes in the book and I so hope that the director is good enough to pull it off. It has the potential to be so powerful on screen.
The Ron pissy-fit was too much like the Ron pissy-fit in Goblet. really, I felt no sympathy for him there so I hope that's another scene that's fixed in the movies.
Gringotts was totally a D&D scene (wonder if it was scripted by actually playing it out like the Dragonlance writers would do) - complete with plot holes, inconsistencies, random magic and an incomplete ending.
I did not like Dobby and couldn't care a whit if he lived or died . . . but it was a wonderful death scene and everyone's reaction definitely pulled at the heartstrings. Problem is that such a death SHOULD have been reserved for, say Lupin or Fred or, hell, Hedwig. Ya know, someone important that we actually cared about.
I wish there had been more about Regulus. There was so much build up in the prior books and then nothing, just an - oh yeah, he died, anyway . . . . He struck a major blow against Voldy, tried to protect his family and sacrificed himself for a house elf. Could he at least get a bit of credit for that?
Go Kreacher!
