I haven't updated this journal in yonks, but I guess it doesn't really matter, as nothing spectacularly interesting has happened to me in the last month.
I was finishing Lord of the Flies overnight and I must say, once you get into the whole concept and philosophy behind the story, it is really quite fascinating. I much prefer dystopian fiction to utopian fiction. But what is utopia? We all know it’s a perfect imaginary place, implausible to any reality. Some would say it was a world where their every need is granted on demand, but how can that be without compromises on the other party? Even if it were possible, all sense of contentment would be just as easily defined as indifference. Wouldn’t we then demand more, and be selfish wanton creatures? Ultimately, our utopia is what we make it - a world where we exist alone, together with brainwashed counterparts. Your views?
Anyway,I'll be changing this layout within the next week, and transferring all my entries from my old journal to here. It takes forever, I tell you, forever! Check out Markus' journal - I'm trying to turn him into a nerd.
