James: If gravity pulls me to the ground, why doesn't it pull the kite?

Abby (when angry and being apologized too): I don't want any sorrys!

Teddy: ah-gghhoo *burble burble*

James(playing with magnets): This yamp (lamp) has more fewwous metal in it than the dorwknob. (He has less mis-pronunciations all the time, and I'll miss them when they're all gone.)

James has an imaginary friend named Crazy Monarch. (The butterfly, not royalty.) I asked him if his friend was crazy, but he said it's just his name. Abby (of course) wanted an imaginary friend with the same name, (what a typical little sister!) but James told her she could have one named Butterfly, and she accepted this.

I gave Abby her cup of juice with breakfast: "Thank you Mommy, you are so sweet!"

Abby is starting to play with some of the other little girls in her playgroup instead of carefully avoiding them. (I remember when we first moved here she yelled "I am not for touching!" when a little girl approached her in the library.)

Teddy tracks people, turning his head to watch them pass. He smiles often when he sees us, and sometimes chuckles a bit when tickled (try to imagine the lowest possible laugh that a small person weighing about 14 pounds can make. That's his belly laugh. Huh! huh! huh!) His burbles are giving way to the occasional shriek as he starts to experiment with volume. He likes to suck on his fists, but can't really grab onto things yet.
