Past Times

Last night I found the most amazing thing ever - a book version of myanimelist.net. I made an account within seconds and started adding book after book to my 'shelf'. It was so, so addictive and I didn't realise how late/early it was until Tosh collapsed of exhaustion.

I had the best of intentions for today too - I was going to get out of bed amazingly early, go and hand in my Children's Writing assignment and then go and fetch the rest of my tablets from town, maybe browsing while I was there? Because of my crappy early morning internets though, I didn;t get out of bed for ages and when I did the last thing I wanted was to go outside. I didn't even open my advent calendar until after I had eaten dinner. : o [I got a candle :3]

I finally got myself out of the flat and into the chillyness of outside. For good measure I had put on a jumper, my fleecy coat and a pair of gloves. I don't like wearing gloves. They make everything awkward, like writing, texting and paying for stuff. : /. As I filled out my assignment form, my writing looked so stupidly distorted because I couldn't hold the pen properly but. There was no way I was taking off my gloves. Not in a million years.

Town was so busy today omg. No matter how many people say to me 'I'm doin mah shoppin early this year 8Db' shopping centres always seem busier every year in the christmas run up O_o. I don't understannnnnd. I picked up my prescription from Boots and on my way out of the Hcross had a look at the 'We're only here cos it's Christmas lol' shops. Wasn't too impressed by the clothes shops [who pays 69.99 on a t-shirt O_o] but there's also an awesome old fashioned one there atm called Past Times that sells things like short bread and Victorian tea that really made me smile. Looking round it, I could imagine my mum saying things like 'OOOh, this is stunning' and pouting and being like 'Can't we have one of these :<'. In a way I'm dreading taking her in there because it's so much more awesome than anything we have at home and it's my last christmas here obv, but also I can't wait to hear her be all OMG.

I also called in at Forbidden Planet, or as it is now known, Scarlet Moon [¬_¬] on my way home for Jenny's Christmas present. One advantage of having a Twilight shop so close by is that it's very easy to get presents for friends. Trouble is....it doesn't stop the feeling of dirtiness and not to mention the confusion. I've no idea what to get a Twilight fan in terms of merch and this shop has everything. When we were all fans of Harry Potter it was easy because I had some idea of the fandom, but all I know about Twilight is the creepy stuff, like the womb cakes and Edward undies. So..yeah..there was much O_o. Followed by ¬_¬ and finally orz

I have Edward and Bella dolls in my room now omgomgomg IF IT WASNT CREEPY AS HELL IT WOULD BE FUNNY.

Laney and I decorated the flat \o/! It's just a few lights, a fiber optic tree and a reindeer that sings, but it makes all the difference imo. It looks like Newarke point Santa's Grotto - i passed the HCross one, actually, the queue was remarkably small. Wonder if this means nobody believes in Santa anymore O_O?

This was my December 1st - how was yours?

christmas, life
