Turtles pop art class at HeArt Studio

We don't have a lot of activities lined up for the boys this school hols, but I did look around for art classes for Sean who really enjoys doodling everywhere now.

Thought it would be nice for him to try out as many non-academic activities as possible before he starts P1 next year!

So we were really happy when HeArt Studio invited him for a holiday art class to paint Ninja Turtles. Sure sounds like a class made for my Turtles-crazy son!

Sean has attended several holiday classes at HeArt Studio before (he has painted a Cat Robot, Landscape and Parrot) and he was really excited to go back.

It was my first time checking out their new premises after they moved to Serangoon. Housed in a two-storey shophouse in a quiet neighbourhood, I was really glad to see the same neat, homely atmosphere and the welcoming faces of the now-familiar teachers.

Sean joined the Little Picassos class (for 5-6 yo) and not surprisingly, there were only boys in the class ;)

Teacher R taught them a little about Roy Litchensen's art - think comic-book style pop art with thick lines and bold, contrasting colours. Then they dived straight into drawing and painting their Ninja Turtles portrait.

I came back 2.5 hours later and they were done! Very impressed with Sean's artwork - it is the biggest piece he has ever done and he was so proud of himself. I asked if he did it himself and he said "yes, but Teacher R helped with the permanent marker". It is going up on his room wall for sure!

If you have time this March hols, do check out the March holiday art classes at HeArt Studio. They have very interesting classes like Peppa Pig, Big Hero 6 (Sean is asking me to sign him up for this), My Little Pony, Frozen and Mickey Mouse for children aged 3 and above.

It is a great way to keep children meaningfully occupied, and you will get a lovely handmade keepsake too!
