Having a splash at Adventure Cove

On the third day of CNY, we brought Sean and Ryan to the water play park Adventure Cove at Resorts World Sentosa. We left Jo with my mum to keep the adult-child ratio even ;)

If not for the fact we had free tickets, we probably would never have thought of bringing the older boys there because they are too young/short to enjoy most of the rides. Still, we made a day of it.

It was a scorching hot day. I had to really make sure we were all slathered with sunblock from head to toe!

We settled ourselves at the Bluwater Bay and the boys ran straight for the wave pool. They found it amusing when the waves crashed into them. Sometimes, we would carry them and venture to the deeper parts (~1.2-1.4m) with them. But most of the time, they were happy just frolicking in the shallow parts. They loved it so much they stayed there almost the entire day and getting rather sunburnt (I think the sunblock got washed off)!

We did drag them away at some points to check out the Big Bucket Treehouse, which had slides suitable for younger kids (this area reminded me of Port of Lost Wonder). Our boys were not brave enough to go down the slides on their own yet so we had to go with them each time. They did enjoy the water features and slides a lot - maybe they will be brave enough to go on their own next time. No pics, because I always had one or two kids stuck to me like barnacles at any one time and there was water spraying everywhere!

We also grabbed tubes and drifted down the Adventure River that ran around the entire park. It was very cool passing by the tanks and seeing big and small sting rays (the baby ones were the cutest things), pufferfish and sharks swim by us!

I made the boys take frequent water and snack breaks because I didn’t want them to die from heat stroke. Thankfully, I brought along a lot of snacks and drinks for them. They finished pretty much everything! We had a quick lunch at The Bay Restaurant.

I was really itching to try some of the bigger slides. They looked like crazy fun. Sean actually made the cut and we could have gone together - but he kept saying he was too scared. The queues got quite crazy after a while (up to 45 mins wait) so I decided to give them a miss.

There was also the Rainbow Reef, an interesting coral reef where we could go snorkeling with fish and rays. Again, Sean was not keen so we had to sit it out.

The boys had a really fun day out - they are still talking about the wave pool and have been asking to go back. I think we will wait till they are older and are more game to at least go on some of the bigger slides to get our money's worth ;)

Personally, we felt that the current One-Day pass to Adventure Cove is very reasonably priced at $25 (definitely a lot cheaper than LEGOLAND Waterpark). If your kids are 6 and older and are adrenaline junkies, you should definitely make a day trip of the place!
