First time at the National Day Parade

Aug 21, 2014 15:01

This is a belated post (I was too busy with Sean's party prep) but Foops and Sean went to watch the National Day parade at the Floating Platform this year.

Such a rare treat, because the tickets are so hard to come by. I know because I have been balloting for tickets every single year but... NADA! Luckily I managed to get my hands on two precious tickets this year.

Ah, the show was such a visual spectacle.

I was home with the younger two boys - Ryan and I were intermittently watching the parade on TV because Jo was quite fussy that evening and Ry was super clingy to me with no one else at home (it took me forever to put Jo to bed).

We watched the F-15s flying past our place and Ryan liked checking out the guns and swords the guards were wearing. Boys! He also remembered the fireworks from our Pan Pacific stay. Hopefully one day, I will be able to bring him to watch the parade live.

Sean had fun with Foops at the parade. He sang along to the songs he had learnt in school and was really happy playing with the contents of the goody bag.

I hope he remembers it for years to come (since I can't guarantee I will be able to get tickets in future, haha). There was even an 'after' party for the performers with a second round of fireworks - they got home very late!

Regardless of what passport I am holding, I am very happy to call Singapore my home. This is where my heart and my family is. Happy 49th, Singapore!
