Last weekend, we visited the second and brand new
Gymnademics centre at Alexandra Retail Centre (ARC).
A bit of background:
Gymnademics is the first and only early childhood enrichment centre in Singapore affiliated with the Institutes For The Achievement Of Human Potential (founded by Glenn Doman) in Philadephia, U.S.A.
The
Gymnademics curriculum strives to equip children with a firm foundation in their early childhood years through a combination of physical and intellectual activities built upon the concept of purposeful play.
Both Sean and Ryan had a very good run at the first Gymnademics centre at Toa Payoh Safra. You can read about their experiences
here and
here.
In fact, we are quite excited to have Ryan start on another term of Pre-Fellow (1-2yo) next month. Will share more about that soon.
If you are keen,
Gymnademics@ARC is having an opening promotion. If you sign up before 30th November 2013, you can enjoy a waiver of registration fee, a complimentary session to your package and an entitlement to their lucky draw contest!
So anyway, the boys were invited to the spanking new premises of
Gymnademics@ARC for a session of free play, a new service that Gymnademics@ARC is offering.
It was really nice to see the familiar faces of their favourite teachers again, especially Teacher Ally :)
Basically, free play means the children can play with all that is in the studio, namely soft play sets, musical instruments, toys, word/picture/encyclopedic cards, etcetera.
As the environment is much safer than it is at a play gym or even at home, the free play sessions are also good for children who like to do balance exercises on their soft play sets or babies learning to crawl, creep and walk.
Ooh boy, did my kids have fun!
Sean and Ryan played with magnetic tiles and play dough, tinkered with bells and musical instruments, swung on the trapeze, had a go at the obstacle course, unearthed the Mystery Box (Sean still remembers it fondly) and built a house out of the soft play blocks!
Personally, I really liked the concept of free play because the children were free to roam around and play with whatever they wanted, however they wanted. And we had a complete peace of mind because the environment was safe and clean! My boys were jumping off the padded mats, bouncing off the walls (literally), rolling and tumbling around and having the time of their lives.
The boys enjoyed themselves so much it was really hard to pry them away when we had to leave!
As a treat for you readers, I have a 4-hours weekday free play pass, worth $40, to give away. The pass can be used Wednesdays to Fridays 10am to 4pm and is valid for one child only (best suited for children aged 5 months to 5 years). It can be split over multiple sessions.
All you have to do is enter this
Rafflecopter giveaway.
Contest ends Sunday 27 October 2013 end of day. Have fun!
