Happy 2012
How was your New Year's?
We had a restful yet busy New Year weekend prepping for the new start of the year.
There wasn't any late-night partying (whassat again?!) and we missed the midnight countdown as well coz we were all zzz-ing by then - hey, it's tiring keeping up with a kid who has boundless energy. But I am very happy coz we managed to get HEAPS done.
On the home front, we have been - and still are - doing massive purging and packing up. I feel a huge sense of satisfaction slowly seeing our wardrobes empty out and the stacks of brown boxes growing bigger :)
We met up with our designer to firm up the last bits of details - blinds, wall colours, floor and door varnish colours, laminates for the cabinets, etc. He okay-ed our choice of dining and coffee tables and we managed to get them at a pretty good discount on the very last day of the sale, yay!
We also dropped by the new place for a look-see and took advantage of the rare spate of warm, sunny weather we have been having for a dip in the pool.
On top of everything that has been going on, our main mission this long weekend was filling our days with lots of activities - a playdate with friends, a trip to the beach, swimming, grocery runs - to tire our little Energiser bunny out. Just so we could re-jig his schedule a bit to prepare for the early start for school in the new year.
Our plan worked really well - he was out like a light by 9pm tonight!
First day of school tomorrow. His bag is packed, his things have been labelled (all thanks to the wonderful folks at Child Label) and his uniform ironed and nicely laid out.
Big day for him, and us!
