Thank you for reading this and taking the time to comment so thoroughly.

I chose to write the Nick/Urs prompt, because like you said, it is a faction that hasn't been explored as much, so it opens the door to countless scenarios that hasn't been written before. I never wrote for this faction, but it left me wanting to do so again in the future.

It amuses me that you didn't think about comparing them in regards to how their masters. I think that's one of the main differences in our approach to FK. I tend to focus on Lacroix and how he affects Nick, so it naturally led me to notice how Vachon could affect Urs in the series. Regardless, I think when it comes to Nick and Urs, there are numerous ways in which they are alike!

Yes, I intended for this fic to take place post "Sons of Belial." I'm glad you picked up on my reference. As for Urs possibly being able to prevent the disastrous outcome of "Last Knight," that's definitely a possibility that I left open. I tend to write off "Last Knight" as a dream at best by one of them. You can make that argument with the weird camera angles and their acting so out of character, in my opinion, LOL.

As for Nick and Urs seeming a bit chatty, I appreciate your constructive criticism on this issue. I did realize they were talking a little more than normal (at least with what we see on our television screens); however, I tried to provide reasons as to why they were. I might need to revisit and think about it since I might have failed in regards to making those reasons obvious. Your correct in assuming that the incident with Natalie is the catalyst in Nick's need to talk more than usual and to someone other than Natalie and Lacroix. And, of course, since this is post "Sons of Belial," I consider Nick to be in a state of change and having unpredictable behavior. [And, I do have to point out that Nick has to be chatty in some regards and with certain events--not all of them, obviously...especially not with the events that don't paint Nick in such a good light--when he tells Natalie all these stories of the past: for example, his conversation with Natalie in "Francesca" about Francesca and blood, not to mention his sharing of past events in episodes like "Dark Knight" (telling her about vampires and Lacroix), "Father Figure" (telling her about Daniel), "False Witness" (by the end, she knew the story of the violinist's trial and he told what happened to him), and "Forward into the Past" (his past dealings with the Barringtons and Stanton), etc. (I get the impression that Nick shares a lot of these flashbacks we are privy to with Natalie.) Sure, a lot of these discussions, which would require a lot of talking by Nick for Natalie to understand the events, happened off camera, except for the tail ends of them, since the episode provided us with the background using flashbacks, but Nick's storytelling happens nonetheless. And, in my story, Nick is retelling the past, just to someone different. Yes, we don't see him being critical of himself in the series, but neither do we really see him telling the story. The fact that Nick does think about the past so often shows me he is critical of the past and his actions. It guides him in how he handles things today. Not to mention Nick would be more reluctant to share his true feelings with Natalie and Janette, because they are critical of him and want him to act a certain way. He doesn't have to be that way with Urs, which my story hit on somewhat. Food for thought.]

Sorry I edited so much, lol.
