I'm glad that you enjoyed it! =) Thank you so much for reading and commenting!

And Urs' point of view of Nick is intriguing.

Hopefully in a good way...LOL.

Of course I love how Lacroix keeps hovering in the background. Although he's not involved in the plot, everybody takes notice of his presence. Interesting how Urs envies Nick for his master.

I'm glad you picked up on this. I wanted it obvious that not only was everyone aware of his presence, Lacroix was very much in Nick's thoughts when he heard what Urs wanted from Vachon. Like you said in your comment, Nick and Urs have so much in common. Even though Vachon gives Urs too much freedom and Lacroix controls Nick too much, they both want acceptance. I wanted to draw that parallel. And, of course, Nick had to be aware of where Lacroix was while he was having this discussion. Lord knows the ramifications if he didn't and Lacroix heard his story. There could be some good and bad results from that, haha.

Anyway, I'm glad that you liked the ending. Your final thoughts was the kind of reaction I was aiming for. I'm also glad you thought the story was appropriate for the song lyrics. =)

Of course. :)

I think your story brings that very successfully to the fore. I also like how Nick instinctively looks at Lacroix first when a battle plan was needed.
I wonder if anyone has ever written a Lacroix/Urs story. Lacroix's comments in Black Buddha indicate that he must have had some dealings with her.

Actually, I think I have ran across one or two Lacroix/Urs stories in the past. I don't remember where, though. I re-read fiction a lot, so if I stumble across them again--and undoubtedly I will--I'll point you in that direction.
