Random tidbits

Well finally my state taxes have been accepted!  Apparently Turbo Tax was swamped.  I went to the Oklahoma Tax Commission website and found the efile voucher form, filled it in with the amount etc. and sent off my check on Tuesday just to play it safe.  Then this evening I heard that the state of Oklahoma was granting extensions until tomorrow midnight to file because apparently Turbo Tax was overloaded on Monday and Tuesday.  (Actually the apparently were overloaded before that, but at least I worked out a contingency on my own.)  So now I am waiting for the Turbo Tax site to load up to see if there is any other thing I should do since I already sent a voucher and my check.

In other news, my son called this evening and apparently he and some of his flyboy buddies are going to get 30 seconds of fame.  The NASCAR Angels filmed some out at Luke Air Force Base in conjunction with the upcoming race in Phoenix.  My son, his instructor and another pilot in his training squadron were filmed doing some of their usual activities as they get ready to fly a training mission.  So it will be interesting to see just what of that filming actually gets aired.

I am also planning to finally getting around to seeing if the fish are biting in Oklahoma.   I am planning to spend tomorrow night until Sunday morning in a cabin near Beavers Bend State Park in Southeastern Oklahoma.  The cabins are near the Mountain Fork River and near Broken Bow Lake.  They have white water canoing, hiking trails, horse trails and of course lots of fishing, so I plan to do lots of line wetting while there.  I have also gotten my kayak all ready with its new state license and its numbers all tricked out on the bow. So in the morning it will be a simple matter to tie it down on the top of the Endeavor and head south for an extended weekend of outdoor goodness!

fishing, taxes, fame, outdoors
