You all know I'm a movie geek. If you don't, then you don't know me well enough. We should fix that.
Anyway, prepare for a geek-driven entry...
Good news! The Directors Guild of America (DGA) and the Association of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) signed an agreement yesterday, settling several contract issues, including one of the major points that the Writers Guild of America (WGA) is striking for: Better division of internet-based profits.
All parties concerned are hopeful that the agreement can serve as a template to speed up negotiations between the WGA and the AMPTP.
Here's hoping. Good tv shows like Pushing Daisies (small but brilliantly written), Battlestar Galactica (which is scheduled to complete its final season this year), and Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles (which i've seen, and so far, is quite awesome) are all affected, among many many others.
...not to mention, people are out of work.
Then again, maybe this should serve as reinforcement for me to get a life and get back to writing my own material.... or trying to anyway.
SPEAKING OF THAT....
Thanks to the husband and wife photography team, WinterWolf Studios (winterwolfstudios.com), I stumbled upon a very promising online community which, until now, i was not privy to.
Uber.com. Looks like a good one. Offering probably the most complete customization for a free personal website ever. From what i've seen so far, it jumps MySpace AND Facebook by leaps and bounds.
I'm strapped for time at the moment between work and school, but whenever I can I'll be learning my Uber chops. (Ha, never in my life did I ever imagine I'd get to use the phrase "Uber chops"!) I'll be working on a new hopefully more professional-looking site to display all my artistic nonsense for anyone who's interested. Music, Video, and Photo. Stay tuned...
