It rained many days
Puppies hid in the rough seas
Returned on Sunday
A pair of live oaks
An unpaved street with deep holes
Spook Walk watered out
Cape sand on Monday
The inlet also cloudy
Tuesday was better
Flounder and bluefish
Stripers wait for currents cold
The wind's been a bitch
MNP tourneys
Hope he'll bring the trophy home
With a tog filet
In normal speak, I must confess that I greatly miss live oaks, Spanish moss, and generic green-gray moss. Going to the South always reminds me of how much different the forests look here. It was nice not seeing beech trees for several days.
Saw many shorebirds--tons of brown pelicans, various gulls (herring, laughing, etc.), willets, ruddy turnstones, golden plovers, sanderlings (my fave little wave evaders,) several great egrets, and a very brave night heron.
Although I try to keep with native plants and trees, I also must confess that I am tempted to try to grow a live oak up here at some point. I miss them that much.
