Synopsis:SP, the duty to protect. Professional bodyguards that safeguard important people even if it at times means sacrificing their own lives.
In the 21st century, regarded as the century of terror, Japan's myth of infallibility is greatly threatened. With domestic and foreign terrorists active behind the scenes, and pleasure-seeking criminals with no political ideology able to easily obtain information from the internet, an era in which terrorism can be carried out has gradually dawned. The role played by the SP has become crucial; bodyguards who protect VIP by becoming "moving shields," locating blind spots beforehand, as well as anticipating unforeseen circumstances.
The SP has just been increased on an experimental basis. Inoue Kaoru is one of the recruits to be assigned to this role. Inoue possess special abilities, and is an entirely new type of SP. Ahaah.... I wish I wouldn't do this... give it a 3 star... Starring my favourite guy ever, Okada-kun! as a psychic (?!?!), ultra-sensitive security police, Inoue.
This dorama is again different from others I've watched, i.e. no cute girl meets cool guy, fall in love kinda crap. Different is good, not boring. Yet, it only garners 3 stars from me. Why, oh why?
It's an action-packed dorama full of stunts and unbelievable storyline, that's why. It's one of those shows where I just forward through the scenes with little dialogue so I can know the ending of the episode. I don't really understand the last part though. Is his partner good or bad? I suppose we have to watch the continuation to that. I totally can't believe that in real life, anybody can be THAT good as a police officer, i mean, security officer (or is it security police?) *scratch heads*.
There's also a SP (special) and a movie for this series. YEAH! More work for Okada-kun. He's really working hard, ne. KCE also has TWO!!! movies to it. Ganbarre ne! Theme song is by V6 themselves - Way of Life. Totally beautiful song. Well, I might be biased here. The pv has them in a circle, holding hands while singing the song. Sigh... really has that 'melancholy' effect.
The tracks in the soundtrack album all have the initials S.P. Tatoeba... Sudden Panic, Shock Proof, Schizoid Paranoia. Machide?!! 'Way of Life' is an exception, though. Till the movie then!
(edit) I was really excited to know that there was a special (more Okada!), but it was a waste of time watching it. It was just a recap, and 'some additional scenes'. Plus, it was SUPER long for a special lah. I think nearly 90 minutes. But I'm not complaning. Anything Okada! is time well-spent. ;)
