You would think that the most powerful baseball lineup ever assembled in the HISTORY OF THE GAME would be able to bat better than .130 with runners in scoring position when you exclude the slaugher of a helpless opponent. You would think.
You would think that an umpire would be able to tell that, when a ball bounces down and over several feet, it probably didn't bump against a padded wall and the culprit was more likely a metal foul pole. (I'm pissed because this probably made Team Mexico try even harder to beat us.) You would think.
And you would think that the commissioenr of baseball would recognize that allowing a steroid-inflated egotistical racist to shatter home run records shortly after one of the most damning books in years pretty much erases any doubt about his use of performance enhancing drugs could be dangerous to the integrity of the sport, and said player should at least be suspended until the question can be cleared up. You would think.
You would be wrong. On all counts.
