yeah im super uncomfortable with objectification of women in hollywood but to counter that by harking back to some ideal of modesty which actually centers the feelings and desires of men again is not something im here for.

however it is her religion and if those are the diktats i dont see anything wrong in her believing that. just wish she didnt come for ariana's billboard

I think traditionally modesty centers the feelings of men but I know a lot of women, including myself, who dress "modestly" because it's what we're most comfortable with. Men are creeps and I just don't want them to see much of my body.

no, im fairly 'modest' by those standards as well (mostly out of force since my country and community are pretty conservative) and there's nothing wrong with dressing like that. but i think when one judges other women by your standards or when one says that other women's dressing affects men and therefore they should cover up, it's a problem

I get annoyed that she refers to herself as Orthodox "with exceptions" instead of admitting that her actions and beliefs are of a less strict flavor. I know a lot of Jews who do that (I'm Jewish myself) and it's really just so they can win arguments and feel superior. If she really was Orthodox, she probably wouldn't have an acting career. She probably wouldn't work at all. The expectations are pretty clear on gender roles.

Not everyone needs to be Orthodox.

but she IDs as orthodox, prob modern orthodox and not haredi in which case she cannot have an acting career

she actually identifies as "conservadox" and according to google thats: the term sometimes used to describe Jews whose beliefs and practices place them on the religious continuum somewhere between Conservative Judaism and Modern Orthodox Judaism

isn't she an anti-vaxxer?

Yes. I called her out on it when she spoke at my campus, and she was pretty pressed. All she said was that she's not totally anti-vax, like she'll vax her kids for something that's wiping out populations left and right. She doesn't trust the science behind how they're made and wants to see more research on how all those chemicals interact. Then she said didn't really want to talk about that and asked if we could get a better question. Such a dumb ass.
