My husband has a silver/looks aluminum-I-don't-really-know-if-it-is-or-not Sony Vaio. It's beautiful. It's powerful. It makes me want to trade him my navy blue Vaio, and if he doesn't accept then withhold sex.
lol tbqh I've never had a problem with my post SP1 vista. Most of the time when I ask people what they don't like about their Vista computer, they can only spout "well my friend had this happen to her" or "it got a virus" (<-which doesn't matter which operating system you're using if people are dumb enough to download britneyspears.exe when they want to limewire her album.) When XP came out, its reception was pretty much like vista's. Everyone hated it. Now xp has this legendary status that just kind of amuses me. I upgraded to win7 a couple of weeks ago and its pretty lovely though. We still use XP and vista partitions at work (as well as OSX) and I have to say, I like win7 the best

Lol the first time I used Vista I could not find the fucking shut down button and I got so pissed off. It's pretty much like the latest MS Office Suite because I have used it since forever and then they pull that dumbass on me, and I had to search for a long while before finding the damn 'print' button! DON'T FIX WHAT AIN'T BROKEN, MICROSOFT

But some malware are hidden and slow down computers, and I'm too lazy to deal with the scanning when I just want to play.
I can appreciate this. It's one of the things that makes apple so good. I almost wish that Microsoft did hardware, since its pretty easy to protect your hardware if you don't have a million and one companies to write the drivers for hoho. I've never had a problem with viruses or malware on my computer so I guess I can't relate to that
Macs don't necessarily have better hardware. I think it's more the software that reduces wear and tear or somethingEven the lowest end macbook will have better hardware than a $499 dell inspiron. Guaranteed. You essentially, get what you pay for. Their software, in terms of syncing flawlessly with their hardware is mainly because like I said, Apple MAKES the hardware. Microsoft has to write an operating system that will work and work well on 50-11 different manufacturers all using different processors, different hdds, different everything. *shrugs* hence the security issues. I don't think Apple makes the hardware as much as it forces hardware companies to conform to its standards instead of being whoring it out. :P
The attraction for PC is the price range, which would never be beaten had MS insisted on manufacturing their own hardware in the first place. So security for price for those who likes to tinkle around.
I like that the MacBook does not lag, and that I don't need to upgrade RAM or anything extra just to prolong its laggibility. My brother's PC is beginning to slow down from lack of care, and he got it only last year so phew
ah, lol. yes. that's what I meant, in terms of making its own hardware. It's known as a hardware company xD it still takes components from intel, etc etc, but the gist is that they're the SAME components over and over again. So its easy to say "hay, exclude everything but these" rather than in windows where its more of the opposite, since you've got sony, dell, hp, acer, asus, and a whole host of other companies using wide variation of hardware, and needing to include all of them, and accomodate the various amount of drivers needed *shrugs* its harder to do an exclusion type of security in that case

I have to admit, Vista bugged the hell out of me at first, but once I figured out how to modify it to resemble XP as much as possible... I was fine with it.
Haha most people do this I realised. But other people I know who bought their PCs during the transition period insisted on a downgrade back to XP for the proper security first. It's quite funny tbh.
idk if PCs were that shitty nobody would be buying them anymore

better hardware, better customisability and the ability to run software that doesn't include dicking around with photos/movies.
oh and the ability to game is lovely :D (although i wouldn't call myself a die hard gamer)

but I just didn't like the fact that like 25% of my class would have the same exact looking computer as I would, lol. I guess I'm just weird like that

A friend said, Vista was an excuse for people to switch to Macs
