it's crazy to see her evolution. she's a completely different artist today. you can see that she really wasn't comfortable with the choreo and the styling that her management/label was probably pushing on her so I'm not at all surprised she's freestyling it in the current era.

are you talking about the Crash era? if so, every part of it was her doing! she wanted it to be her "sell out" era bc it was supposed to be her last album for a while bc her contract was up. which is why everything was very sexual, lots of choreo, mainstream pop sound, etc.

No not just Crash. I mean if you look at the first clip here the difference is huge. And wasn’t Crash her least favourite album?

I don't recall her ever speaking about what her least favorite album is, but if I had to guess probably Sucker

“There were songs on Crash that I would never listen to,” she says, citing her song “Yuck” as an example. “I needed to switch after Crash - I wasn’t born to do radio liners,” she said. “That’s not who I am at all.”

I mean she doesn't say it verbatim but that quote from The Face magazine how she can't even listen to songs from Crash is pretty telling. There's also this quote: "Do I want to be singing 'Good Ones' forever?" XCX recently mused in an interview with Vulture. "Personally, no. Those songs don’t get me off as much."
