• Pop star Charli XCX cements the year of Brat with a couple of major Grammy noms and a plum hosting-and-musical-guest-spot on SNL tonight.
• Charli first appeared on the show back in December 2014, off the back of her hit "Boom Clap" and her debut album Sucker. She was slated to appear on the show again in December 2021, but the Omicron variant of COVID washed over New York and led to the first ever cancellation of a traditional SNL episode. While the show did go on in a clip show style capacity, Charli's performance was cancelled and rescheduled for the March 2022 Oscar Isaac episode.
• The previous two times she appeared on the show she popped up in a pre-tape. The first being "Christmas Socks" one of the only completed pieces from the 2021 Paul Rudd episode, and she was a singing meatball in an early beloved Sarah Sherman short "Meatballs". Bowen Yang also impersonated her during this season's premiere episode.
