You only watch it for the ridiculousness because gay week didn't give us much in the romance department! But if you are into seeing how increasingly bonkers a show can get, give it a watch. If anything, it does acknowledge they want you to think throuple by introducing another throuple. Also a lot of half-naked guys getting rubbed down with sunscreen.

It's not a good show, but it is super easy to watch. IDK if you guys have Kraft EasyMac, which is microwavable macaroni and cheese, but someone described it as that on Reddit and it fits - it is indeed easy to consume and tasty.

Watch for every time they mention heaven or illusion or stuff along those lines - there is a big theory that this is either a coma dream, the afterlife, or something related to that. Because everything is so ridiculous that it couldn't possibly be reality, especially once you find out why he decided to be a cruise ship doctor LMAO.

I had to fast forward through Tristan starting a dance on the beach because it was too cringe. I think I got to the "I was the first COVID patient" info drop, which I tuned out because it's just too much for me (like cringe and also Way Too Soon for this).

This has to be some sort of heaven/hell because it's way too cringe lol.

Also, why are there only three medical staff members on the ship????

Because it's not real! The ship is both a Carnival Cruises ship AND an ultra-luxury yacht all at once. And if you've ever actually been on a cruise, you know it's nothing like what's happening on that ship - almost as if nobody on the ship has also ever been on the cruise, including the crew. It's what someone who imagines it's like LMAO. And the situations that happen sometimes just defy the laws of reality (especially the wellness week episode with the weather). Also watch for tonal whiplash because it will go from dark to campy and back real fast.

We agreed that episode 1 is the gayest episode, even more than gay week. It's kind of disappointing LMAO. Although episode 3 has some weird pseudo-flirting, episode 2 has the air kisses that barely anyone noticed because there was a lot of movement going on in that shot LOL, and episode 7 is legit a gay cruise. But man, it pushes the boundaries of how much sexual energy is allowed on an American 9 pm show on a broadcast network. They are all super horny for each other, it's quite amusing

Honestly, the guys are so homo while trying to pretend they're hetero, and I say this as someone who likes Tristan/Avery more than any coupling with Max. I'm on episode two now, and it's just insane with how cringe it is. (I thought I was already on episode two halfway through episode one because Max and Avery moved FAST!).

My medical knowledge is Grey's and E.R. and this is unbelievable to me. How do they not have more staff? Do they not have shifts? Are they always on? I've never been on a cruise, but I would not want to be on this cruise.

I think Don's character is god just because he gives me that vibe.

I can't wait for the next ONTD discussion post because I will be there!

Episode 8 is the fall finale and it won't return until March AFAIK :(

I think most fans, if we can't have the throuple, want Max/Tristan LMAO. In episode 3, it gets heavily hinted that Max isn't 100% straight (if you hadn't already gotten that hint from, idk, the entire show - this show is heavy-handed about everything, which just ups the cheesy camp factor). But yes, the horniest by far is Avery, and she clearly wants both of them very early on, which is weird given she didn't want Tristan in the years they've known each other until suddenly Max shows up and now she's like "Give me everything!" But alas, a lot of fans did this in episodes 6 and 7:

I'm unsurprised since fandom tends to skew M/M. I like Avery a lot! She has a lot of sass/doesn't make me cringe lol. (I also tend to like the women more than the men.) I kind of felt like Tristan wanted to get into Max's pants as he keeps giving him a bit of a sexy side-eye, and Max definitely reads as though he wants a bit of that D.

But I still don't know who the crew are on this ship aside from these three and Don Johnson!

I saw the episode 8 preview and decided I needed to watch LOL.
