here looks sooooooooo bad lol, the zemeckis flop era continues

finally watched the substance last night and tbh aside from demi moore, the fx/makeup/prosthetic work and the score, i thought it was pretty mid. kinda entertaining at times but more derivative and dumb than anything else, and very french (in a bad way). cannot believe it won best screenplay at cannes when the dialogue reminded me of m night shyamalan at his worst!

yeah i found it more laughable than offensive - i don't think it was meant to be a comedy, but who can never be sure! i definitely think the people lauding it as some kind of subversive feminist masterpiece are out of their damn minds lmao

Grotesque body horror film The Substance will compete in comedy/musical category at Golden Globes

(but I certainly think the movie can be labeled a satire, so it's not the worst movie to ever be considered for that category...The Tourist got nominations, after all)
