I feel like that Ryan Murphy show did SO much damage to their case, public opinion was starting to change, then that homoerotic greedy incest brother show comes out and puts them back to square one
If they get out (and it’s a long shot, legally) I hope they stay away from the spotlight

I have stopped watching Ryan's shows bc of this. Like I'm done with him 100%

Do you really think it hurt their case? At least on IG reels it seems like the youths who were born after this case really want them freed after watching monsters

Most people who know/remember the case DESPISE the brothers, and most people who watched that show probably aren’t researching the case they just watch it, take it at face value and don’t think of it again

I guess my doom scrolling is painting a different picture. Im seeing a lot of obsessive gen zers doing keep dives on the brothers after watching the show.

yeah i really don’t know a lot of older people who are watching it, it seems like mostly millennials and gen z, and i think millennials probably watched the two made for tv miniseries they did on them about a decade ago plus the one or two docs that came out at the same time and learned about it then.

Honestly. My mother thinks she knows everything about the case because "in the Netflix show they said that..." and is adamant about how evil they are for what they did lmao. I've tried to explain to her why she's wrong, but she believes everything that the show put about them. I fucking despise Murphy so much for the damage he's done to them with that gross show.

Didn't all this talk about them resurface due to that show? Are we sure the show didnt help?

Personally I thought that the show made it clear that there was a big miscarriage of justice going on in their second trial, it’s clear that the judge was biased and not willing to give them a fair defence because everyone was so fixated on getting results after the OJ verdict ( ... )

I mean, the shower scene is shown to be from Dominick Dunne's perspective, but even if you just look at him as an unreliable narrator, they still didn't have to show it...they could've just mentioned it, they didn't need to show it...And what about the scenes of them kissing or dancing suggestively? Or Erik in the shower with the other inmate? None of these are things that were ever proven in court, these were just rumors fueled by Dunne and the prosecution team, there was no evidence of it. And what about Lyle doing drugs and bullying kids? Where did that come from? The show shows things that didn't happen and were never proven in court. Meanwhile completely ignoring and disregarding the brothers' story as "they're just liars/actors and sociopaths".
